Personality traits test

For me, knowing yourself means knowing your strengths and weaknesses; Self-knowledge is a process of defining and embracing your true self on a deeper level. Knowing the things you are passionate with is also a part of discovering oneself. Self-Knowledge is essential because it offers us a way and a route to greater happiness and fulfillment in life. Having a Self-knowledge has a greater chance of avoiding errors and mistakes in our dealings with others and the formulation of our life choices while a lack of self-knowledge may lead a person to a mistaken ambition.

Personality differs from one person to another. The personality of an individual isn’t the same with the personality of the other person even if they are identical twins or siblings. When we say personality, it refers to the totality of traits, behaviors, and characteristics of a person. Yes, it is possible that many people share the same traits, characteristics, and behaviors, but having the same personality or a combination of all these traits would be impossible since every person is unique. Each of us possesses different personalities. We have a unique way of dealing with the situations around us. We respond distinctively on the things we experience and encounter. Some traits can help us to become better, and some don’t and might drag us down. It is also proven that the personality of an individual determines how a person reacts to a certain situation and how he or she deals with it. A positive-thinker may view certain things in life in an optimistic way, and the negative-thinker, Of course, has the opposite way of viewing things in life. A person’s personality has a great factor in how they are dealing with other people. And all the things that surround a person may influence his or her reactions to various situations and tasks.

Last February 21, 2019, our facilitator conducted a Personality Trait Test to measure our capabilities and to test our abilities to become a successful technopreneur in the future. But before I tell the result of my personality trait test let us define first, what is a personality trait test? And how does this test affects us as a future technopreneur? Personality trait tests are a standardized set of questions that tend to evaluate the personality of an individual. Although the results are theoretical, it can be said that it is the best way to measure and evaluate oneself in terms of his/her personality. We were only given 30 minutes to finish the personality trait test. The test contains thirty-two items, and each item contains two choices which are choices A and B. Every answer in each item has a corresponding point, and these points will now determine your Personality. As I go through the test, I have noticed that this Personality Trait Test has a connection in the field of entrepreneurship, since most of the item contains situations and decisions involving money and economic matter. I guess almost three-fourths of the test contains choices that have something to do with money. After we finished taking the test, our facilitator told us to tally our total scores; then he showed us the corresponding result for the total score that we’ve got. For those students who got 0-25 points; it means they don’t have the abilities to become a technopreneur (not entrepreneurial). If you got 26-36 means, you are neutral. If your score is between 37-47, it means you are somewhat an entrepreneur and for those who got 48 points above suggests that they are very entrepreneurial it means they have a greater chance of becoming a successful technopreneurs. When I got my total score, I was surprised because the result says that I’m in the Neutral level; it means I need to improve myself more to become a successful technopreneur. After knowing our tallied scores, we compared our results to one another. The more I compare my result to others, the more I get self-pity. Some of my friend’s scores were ranging from 38-50, which is equivalent to “somewhat entrepreneurial.” So I thought that maybe I’m don’t have that entrepreneurial nature at all. But when our facilitator explained what does neutral means, I was quite relieved, because Neutral doesn’t mean “you are not entrepreneurial at all” but “one has a little bit of entrepreneurial spark in him, but it must be cultivated and improve to be recognized.” Then our facilitator reminded us that the results don’t affect whether we possessed an entrepreneurial mind or not because we are still improving and learning things on how to have an entrepreneurial mind in our Technopreneurship subject.

After knowing my result, which is neutral. I realized that there are some areas in myself that need improvement. And these are:

Self-knowledge

The first step that I must do in improving myself is to understand myself deeper and discover the things that I love most, and the things that I’m passionate about. Because if you know things you like and the things you want, just like Steve Jobs did, you will succeed and achieve your goals.

Self-confidence

Having Self-confidence has always been my problem. I always find myself hiding the true me from other people because I lack Self-confidence and this time I promise that I will be more confident in all the things that I do and always trust myself to pursue my goals in life.

Risk-taker

I have also observed in the test that it involves choices that imply taking up either of the two paths: risk-taking or being safe. I answered and chose to pick the safer choices, most of the time. And that is the attitude that I want to change. Because in the field of technopreneurship, an initial decision always involves taking risks and to able to become a technopreneur, one must equip himself the basic knowledge, and that is the attitude that I want to have.

Our personalities make us who we are as an individual, and we should each own that. We must not aim to become something or someone we’re not, but rather, improve upon the great qualities we have to offer.
